RMEO & ULIA
8.-14.10.2014, Container at the yard of Suvilahti, Kaasutehtaankatu 1, Helsinki
In Reality Research Centre’s new production, a contemporary theatre performance becomes directed by people who are not obviously granted floor in Finland in 2014. Ranja Omaheimo, Stella Sandström and Ruslan Kantaev represent outsiders, invisible, others. Their scenes bring in front of the audience their perception of surrounding world and culture.
In the performance William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is used as a tool for seeing.
With the performance the working group wants to bring forth groups of people and phenomena, which are invisible or from which we have alienated ourselves. Such as we don’t see anymore, for example children, people recovering from mental health problems and immigrants.
Performance is part of the first season of Mad House.
