LUX HELSINKI: FUSE* – FALIN MYND
5.–9.1.2022, in front of Valvomo (building 11), Suvilahti

Falin Mynd is an audiovisual installation that transforms the interpretation of Helsinki’s emotional state by various data sources into a moving image and soundscape. The abstract digital landscape on the video screen is formed in real time by the tweets and hashtags of locals and visitors and news related to Helsinki.

Falin Mynd emphasises the inseparable bond between the individual and the community and their impact on each other, while also changing the perception of our surrounding reality, places, people, colours and senses.

The installation was inspired by a photograph and the invisible trace left by light that is revealed only when the film is developed. It makes the invisible image of the city visible and forms a map of what is normally hidden. In co-operation with: Italian Cultural Institute.
